New Technology of Placing Plastic Net to Raise Chickens

New technology of placing plastic netting to raise chickens has been promoted in recent years. It sets up plastic netting (30–50 centimeter away from the ground) in an idle house or on the outdoor space in front of the house to raise chickens. This technology can not only effectively avoid the influence of humid and rainy weather, conducive to the management, but also conducive to ventilation, reduce feed waste and increase the speed of weight gain. Because the chicken body is not in direct contact with feces, it greatly reduces the incidence of pullorum disease, coccidiosis, chest cyst , soft foot disease and many other disease. The main points of its feeding and management techniques are as follows:

Chicks are on the white plastic net.

PPN-01: New technology of placing plastic net to raise chickens has been promoted in recent years.

This is a piece of white plastic net on a hand.

PPN-02: The net should be covered with hard paper shell or plastic cloth when raise chicks.

  • Disinfection: 5 days before the chicks are put into the house, it can be sterilized by formaldehyde fumigation. The method is that thoroughly wash and brush the poultry house, the water dispenser, utensils, material buckets, net racks and other equipment in it. And then, place 1 metal bucket every 50 square meters. First pour into 40 ml of water, then add 20 grams of potassium permanganate. Place the contain evenly and in order of position, pour 40 ml of formaldehyde into drums rapidly. Then close the door. Open the windows and air the room after 24 hours of airtight. By doing this, the pathogens in the house can be completely eliminated.
  • Cleaning: As soon as the chicks (before 1 week old) are put on the net, the net should be covered with hard paper shell or plastic cloth, surrounded by plastic cloth. Uses tanks and sinks to feed and water these chicks. 1 week later, the hard paper shell can be removed and let the chicken manure drop directly from the grid mesh. In addition, ensure the feed fresh and drinking water clean.
  • Temperature: The brooding temperature of chicks which are just put on the net should reach 35 °C and drop 2.5 °C per week. When gradually dropping to the natural room temperature, stop heating.
  • Illumination: In the first two days, chicks which are just put in the chicken house should be 24 hours of all-weather lighted, and later, kept 23-hour lighting every day. At the same time, the light intensity drops from 2.7 watts per square meter to 1 watts per square meter. Natural light is adopted during the day, while nighttime is supplemental illumination.
  • Feed: According to the different stages of growth, feed chickens broiler nutritional feed correspondingly or self make compound feed. The reference standard is:
    • From birth to 20-day old: Feed contains metabolizable energy of 12.5 per kg, crude protein 21%.
    • From 21-day old to 40-day old: Feed contains metabolizable energy of 13 per kg, crude protein 20%.
    • From 41-day old to become full grown and ready for slaughter: Feed contains metabolizable energy of 13.5 per kg, crude protein 18%.
  • Management: With the growth of the broiler age, it is necessary to constantly adjust the height of the feed barrel and water dispenser. In order to both raise chickens well and ensure the service life of plastic net, one can not trample on the plastic net. The feeding density is 40 per square meter at 1 week old. And later, the density is reduced by 10 per week until it reaches 10 per square meter at 4 weeks old. During feeding, timely discover and pick out the sick, weak and disabled chicks. Try to reduce the shock, noise, feed mutation and other stress factors, and adopt the all-in-all-out feeding and management methods. The water dispenser should be cleaned and disinfected every day, and the barrel should be cleaned every week. Especially in the period when epidemics occur, peracetic acid (20%, 1500 times dilution) or BESTAQUAM-S (500–1000 times diluted) should be adopted to spray disinfect, including the chickens. It is important to note that nozzles should spray the place 50–80 cm away from chickens and do not close to the chicken heads. Spray speed should be controlled in 2–5 minutes and spray 0.2 liters (this is the amount of per square meter). Try to be even and comprehensive, without leaving dead corners.
  • Epidemic prevention: Have an inoculation of ND (Newcastle Disease) II system vaccine and infectious bronchus vaccine when chicks are 4-day old and have an inoculation of IBD (Infectious Bursal Disease) vaccine when chicks are 14-day old. Every 1-2 weeks, drink 0.02% Furazolidone liquid once.
